We had already tested and determined precise arrow drop (in inches) for over 25 different crossbow shooting speeds. Now it was time to determine arrow speed drop (in FPS). Test results below.
How These Results Were Obtained?
We shot 9 different crossbows, obtaining projectile speeds ranging from 200 to 400 FPS in 25 FPS increments, at an indoor range. Using chronographs we then measured the speed of the arrow as it passed the 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 yard marks. Below are the results of the test, and you can click on any of the FPS settings at the bottom of the chart to display or hide specific results. You may also want to see our kinetic energy chart to see how we used the values below to determine precise kinetic energy for multiple shooting speeds at varying distances, and how that information can help you become a better hunter.
